MARICON 2026 CONVENTION RULES
EXHIBITOR RULES
These rules define the basic conditions of participation and the obligations of exhibitors at the MariCon 2026 convention. By submitting an application, the exhibitor agrees to all provisions of these Exhibitor Rules.
APPLICATION RULES
- Applications must be submitted via https://maricon.si/. Submission does not automatically guarantee acceptance.
- In the event of a high number of applications, a committee will review all submissions and select participants based on specific criteria (art style – anime/manga, quality of artwork, diversity, originality, and technical execution).
- Within three weeks after applications close, all artists will receive an email confirming or rejecting their participation. Rejected applicants will be placed on a waiting list and notified if a spot becomes available.
- Selected artists will receive payment instructions for booth rental via email. Participation is confirmed only after the invoice is paid. At that point, artists will also receive basic event information.
- If participation is canceled in writing by September 4, 2026 (inclusive), the full amount will be refunded. After this date, refunds are not possible. Cancellation must be sent to maricon.official.info@gmail.com.
- In case of late payment or violation of general rules and prohibitions, the organizer reserves the right to cancel participation.
BOOTH RULES
- Various table configurations will be available. A standard school desk measures approximately 65 cm × 60 cm (minor deviations possible). This is the smallest unit available.
- Available table options:
- XS table (65 × 60 cm) – smallest option. Rental: €5. Includes one chair and one exhibitor pass.
- S table (130 × 60 cm) – two XS tables. Rental: €10. Includes one chair and one exhibitor pass.
- M table (195 × 60 cm) – three XS tables. Rental: €30. Includes two chairs, one exhibitor pass, and one assistant pass.
- L1 – straight table (260 × 60 cm) – four XS tables. Rental: €90. Includes two chairs, one exhibitor pass, and one assistant pass.
- L2 – corner table (195 × 125 cm) – L-shaped (4 XS tables). Rental: €90. Includes two chairs, one exhibitor pass, and one assistant pass.

- Requested booth size or type is not guaranteed. If unavailable, the organizer will contact you to arrange an alternative.
- Booth placement cannot be guaranteed.
- Moving tables on-site is not permitted.
- Booth sharing is not allowed. You may request to be placed next to another artist, provided both artists list each other in their applications. Requests will be considered based on space availability.
- The organizer is not responsible for loss or damage to exhibited items.
SETUP AND DISMANTLING RULES
- Booth setup takes place on the day of the event. Exhibitors may arrive from 7:30 AM. Setup and product placement must be completed by 9:30 AM, after which the entrance closes.
- Booths must be dismantled by 10:00 PM. After this time, entry and exit will no longer be possible.
PARKING RULES
- Exhibitors may park in front of the building in the school parking lot until spaces are filled (first-come, first-served).
- If full, exhibitors may temporarily park (max. 30 minutes) to unload items, then must move to nearby public paid parking.
- From 8:00 PM to 10:00 PM, parking will be available for all exhibitors for dismantling purposes.
OTHER RULES
- Additional assistant tickets can be purchased in advance (max. 2), indicated during application. Price: €5 per ticket.
- Changes to your application (booth preferences, additional tickets, etc.) can be made until September 4, 2026 by emailing maricon.official.info@gmail.com. Changes after this date are not possible.
- All listed prices are excluding VAT!
GENERAL TERMS OF THE CONVENTION
These terms define the general conditions of MariCon 2026. By submitting an application, the exhibitor agrees to all terms.
1. GENERAL RULES, PROHIBITIONS, AND WARNINGS
- Selling or promoting AI-generated artwork is prohibited.
- Selling traced artwork is prohibited.
- Plagiarism and unauthorized use of others’ work are prohibited.
- Selling fan art is at your own risk.
- Selling or promoting illegal, dangerous, or inappropriate content is prohibited.
- Selling or promoting pornographic content is prohibited.
- Selling or promoting violent content is prohibited.
- Selling or promoting hateful or extremely offensive content is prohibited.
- Selling or promoting political or religious content is prohibited.
- Selling or promoting tobacco or alcohol products is prohibited.
- The organizer is not responsible for loss or damage to exhibited items.
2. SALE OF PRODUCTS AND ISSUING RECEIPTS
- Exhibitors must comply with all legal requirements for selling products in the Republic of Slovenia.
- Exhibitors must have a registered business activity and issue receipts legally.
- Exhibitors are solely responsible for their financial operations. The organizer is not liable for disputes with authorities or inspectors.
3. SANCTIONS IN CASE OF VIOLATIONS
- The organizer reserves the right to monitor compliance and take action in case of violations, including temporary or permanent closure of a booth after a warning.
4. ORGANIZER’S RIGHTS
- The organizer reserves the right to modify the program, schedule, or event content due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Refunds are not possible for partial program changes. Refunds are only issued if the entire event is canceled.
VISITOR RULES
- To ensure comfort and a pleasant experience for all participants, we have established the following basic rules.
- Visitors are expected to treat others and the MariCon staff with respect and behave responsibly toward the venue and surrounding areas.
- Entry is prohibited to anyone under the influence of alcohol or psychoactive substances. Bringing or consuming such substances is also prohibited.
- Smoking is prohibited inside the venue and at the entrance. It is allowed only in designated outdoor areas.
- Food is allowed only in designated areas (school dining hall) and outside the building. Waste must be disposed of properly.
- Weapons are prohibited. Only non-metal cosplay props are allowed and must be inspected. They must be made of safe materials. Realistic firearm replicas are not allowed. Bows are permitted only with soft-tipped arrows. Dangerous items may be confiscated.
- Content inappropriate for minors is prohibited.
- Animals are not allowed, except for certified service animals.
- Photography is allowed with respect for privacy. Consent must be obtained. The event is publicly photographed and recorded, and official photos will be shared online.
- Touching or harassing others without consent is prohibited.
- A cloakroom will be available (capacity limited). Visitors receive a claim form and wristband. Items are stored at the owner’s risk, including in cosplay changing areas.
- The organizer may change the program due to unforeseen circumstances.
- Refunds apply only if the entire event is canceled.
- Masks are required in case of mild illness; entry is prohibited in case of serious symptoms.
- In case of injury, contact the info desk or call 112.
- Failure to comply with these rules or staff instructions may result in removal from the event.
